O acusado processou Ignácio por calúnia, o Tribunal da Relação julgou-a improcedente, o Supremo Tribunal de Justiça não tomou conhecimento do recurso, mandou devolver os autos ao Tribunal de origem e condenou o recorrente ao pagamento das custas.
